My “can’t live withouts”
Adrian over at NetBusinessBlog has posted about what he can’t live without - it’s a great list, and I thought it would be fun to write my own “can’t live withouts”. So here they are, in no particular order:
Roboform. I use my Roboform (via the FF plugin) all the time. I’d be totally lost without it.
Google Reader. On my main account, I have over a 1000 feeds. I finally clued in that so many feeds just might cause things to run a bit slowly. So I exported my OPML feed, split it up into several niche feeds, and imported them into a handful of different accounts. I’m happy again.
Teli and Chrissie. Teli and Chrissie are my best friends and coincidentally, online entrepreneurs too. We have a mini mastermind group going and a whole lot of brainstorming is always going on.
Wordpress. The majority of my sites, with the exception of my VRE sites, run on the Wordpress platform. Even though I own some fantastic sitebuilders, in the past year I’ve mainly been using Wordpress. (That might be Teli’s influence)
My private membership forums. I belong to a handful of them - E1KD is my favorite - and I find that they are incredible for the motivation and the inspiration, not to mention the networking and community.
My family. Of course. They are fabulous, and very understanding when mom’s working on a new site and can’t tear herself away from the computer at that very second (”You need me if you’re hurt and/or bleeding. Are you hurt or bleeding? No? Then you don’t need me.”)
Textpad. I purchased my copy about three years ago, and I pull it up every day. I use it for so many things.
Open Office. I use the Open Office suite even though I also have Microsoft Word and Excel (although they are older versions). I just find that the Open Office programs seem to run more cleanly on my computer. And I like the ability to create PDFs so easily.
Firefox. And all the add-ons and extensions. And the Bookmark Toolbar, where I cram a lot of things in, using acronyms so I can squeeze just one more button there.
My personal assistant. She works in my offline business, and also blogs for me. Outsourcing work to her has been one of the best decisions I ever made.
InnerTalk. Yes. Subliminals do work. The catch is that you have to believe they work in order for them to work. But hey, I do. So yes, they work. And InnerTalk has an incredible assortment of CDs.
My iPod. And my Logitech iPod speakers.
I could come up with a lot more things, but this is a good start. Thanks for the inspiration, Adrian!
